Any experience on attending these schools with a family - bringing wife and 18 month old son with. She's concerned about feeling isolated/bored at HEC or IMD (not worried with Madrid). Thanks!

First of all, there is a healthy expatriate population in Paris. So I don't think HEC would be a problem at all, especially if she's open to learning French.
IMD is geared towards older professionals, I mean not old-old but people on their early thirties, so it would seem likely to me that they have activities and clubs for couples.
And European MBA programs are on the whole more open to candidates over the age of 26 so I think that it's a good move to stick with that.
What I would recommend is that you contact each of these programs and ask what they have in terms of couples programs, and partner programs.
After that, connect with them over social.media.
In some ways, I think the fact that you have a child would help her connect with other mothers at the playground or whatever and provide a common ground.
She just needs to make a decision to put herself out there. Spoken from the perspective of someone who has lived abroad many times.

I agree that HEC and Paris is probably the best option for her as there are lots of expats in Paris, more so than in Madrid, where it may be slightly more difficult to get by without knowing the local language at all. But both Paris and Madrid are great places to be as an expat, with or without a child.
IMD would probably be the most problematic option for her, due to the location as it is more isolated (and may I say boring compared to bigger cities) although the language will be less of an issue there.
So I would go for IE or HEC if I were you purely based on that.
