Need your help in understanding if Indian students are employed by companies in the USA for Brand Management and marketing roles.
I consulted some of my friends in the US regarding this and they were of the opinion that marketing is a skill set that is readily available among local students and hence companies generally prefer hiring americans for marketing roles rather than students of other nationalities. Some of my friends have an MIS or consulting background and hence might not have clarity on marketing, hence I have posted my query here.
I tried reading a lot about marketing jobs in the USA for non-americans but didn't find much about it.
I have a marketing background of 3 years in the media and entertainment industry but I am really skeptical of landing a job in the US. I am planning to pursue MBA in Marketing from one of the B schools in the USA.
Request you guys to please help me with this.

It is very difficult to get Brand Management jobs if you need visa sponsorship. Most of the big brand CPG companies that come to your mind will not be ready to sponsor your H1B. You have two routes, join a marketing company (that sponsors H1B) such as RJ Reynolds and Essilor and then shift to a better brand or join a company such as J&J and Kimberly Clark which will offer you a role in your home country.

Good advice above, I don't think the issue is one of availability or skills it may be more of interest and sponsorship
