First of all, well done.

Second, and leaving HEC out just because of your preferences, I think you have slightly different value propositions here, so it is for you to weight what you value the most.

IMD: Slightly older crowd, fair amount of past MBA level professionals who live in Switzerland ticking the box, and unbeatable placement in Switzerland. If you are at MBA level, you can greatly benefit with a lot of sponsored guys going back to the companies in the country you want to be in, because they will probably help you.

INSEAD: Younger crowd, better social life, broader job placement in sector/geography, bigger % of job seekers, and a vast majority of the sponsored guys will come only from consulting. You will have broader opportunities, more industries recruiting, and a much better social life. Lausanne is pretty unremarkable IMO.

I think if you know exactly what you want, and it is Switzerland and industry (I'd check placement reports but I think it is where most grads go), go for IMD. If want to explore a bit more, have more opportunities in other geographies and have a wider array of sectors, go to INSEAD.

And now, my completely biased last remark, go to INSEAD. I loved it, you'll do too.

Can you elaborate on what you said about sponsored students at IMD? I've reviewed their class books and at most it's a few students that are listed as sponsored out of each class of 90.

Got a work colleague from IMD and it was her impression, she said that they had a fair number of sponsored students, going back to more senior positions than regular MBA grads, as they were a bit older. IMD was not a target school for me and didn't go through their student book, so apologies if wrong.
