Hi, I got admitted to two programs IE IMBA and IIM Ahmedabad PGPX and need help of GMAT community to decide where to go. Which program will provide me better learning and opportunities to grow.
Background: I have 10.5 years' experience in Telecom Industry with 5 years of international experience and worked in 5 countries in diverse roles such as Radio Network Engineer, Team Leader, Technology (3G/4G) Consultant, and Solution Architect (practice development) for digital transformation. I want to do MBA to develop my leadership skills and business acumen. My short-term goal is to work in strategy/leadership roles in digital transformation domain (in Technology or Telecom company/startup). Gaining confidence, I want to move towards my mid to long term goal of starting my own Techno Consulting firm. I aim to craft sustainable business strategies, provide solutions and help my clients capture the vast untapped market potential and stay at the helm of digital transformation.
Pros IE: Highly ranked program, highly international/diverse class, Focus on Entrepreneurship and digital transformation through VC Lab and Business Impact Lab, connections with Telecom Industry through Mobile World Congress and vast alumni network in leading telecom companies, good internship and exchange programs
Cons IE: Much Expensive than IIMA, Poor economy of Spain, unfavourable Work visa rules, less known brand in Asian countries such as India
Pros IIMA: Top brand in India, rigorous program, Better network in India, Much Cheaper than IE (almost half of the cost at IE)
Cons IIMA: PGPX program is not well known and people think it as executive MBA, class is mostly full of one nationality i.e. Indians, only 2 weeks International immersion program.
PS: I understand that i may or may not get job in Europe and i am ready to come back to India post MBA. Actually my long term goal is to work in India.

If your target market is India, then I think IIM -A will be a better place.

First of all, congratulations on your admission to these colleges.
In my opinion, if working in India is your long term plan, then IIM Ahmedabad will definitely help, considering its vast network and brand value in India.
