Making a choice between:
CBS ($50K total) - Estimated budget for two years $220K total ($170K after $)
Kellogg MMM (No $) - Estimated budget for two years $240K total
Considerations:
- Currently living in NYC, but open to moving. Only consideration is post-MBA would like to be in NYC or SF.
- Looking to transition from strategy consulting into product management in tech companies. (No technical background for undergrad or work)
- Money is a consideration given cost will be self-financed using loans, and tech does not have huge bonuses like banking (Difference of $70K)
- International background so may have to work abroad at some point
Current Thoughts / Concerns:
- Both seem to have the same set of recruiters; unsure if the numbers are similar-ish
- Kellogg appears to have a stronger community of like-minded students interested in PM. Might be helpful. Unsure if CBS does.
- Community seems way stronger at Kellogg. Network seems more responsive at Kellogg. Do not have enough data points for CBS and wondering if it is just a NYC vs Midwest vibe.
- Kellogg has more experiential class (working on projects with real companies) but CBS has ability to do in-semester internship
Appreciate any insights or thoughts.
