Hi
Got admitted to both Full-time 2 year MBA. No scholarship from either school since I already got full scholarship from external sources.
My question might sounds a little stupid, since Kellogg ranks much better than Cornell (Top5 VS Top15), but here's the deal:
I would definitely choose Kellogg right away if I have career goal in business consulting (MBB, Big4, etc.), since Kellogg sends TONS of people to those firm. But my goal is to work for INGOs (think about UN, WTO, World bank) or firm in social sector.
From my discussion with people within these INGOs, Cornell seems to be a better choice for me with my specific goal (more well-known/recognition especially in Asia where I came from, more well-known outside business consulting/marketing field, an Ivy-league brand, its strong immersion on sustainability etc.). At the same time, alumni network from Kellogg is definitely undisputed, as I personally knew a lot of successful Kellogg MBA grads.
I found myself equally fit to both school (talked to lots of alumni from both school). I have no concern about the location, since I will obviously not looking for a job after graduate (must come back and work for sponsored company for few years). So Evanston, Ithaca, or even Alaska should make no different for me.
Should I go to Cornell despite its lower MBA ranking? or should I strict with my initial gut feelings in choosing a school?
Thank you for your suggestion!
