Hi! I am fortunate enough to have been accepted to both LBS and Booth (with a small scholarship). (How I wish I only got an admit from 1 school. Choices. :P)
Bit of context: I am from consulting (MBB) and would want to continue in consulting (MBB) in the long-term. I will be recruiting during the MBA. I have 2.5 years of job experience (3 years when I matriculate). I am also looking to settle down in the UK/US permanently. Expenses are
not a factor for consideration.
Points below are arranged in order of importance. First priority, by an absolute mile, is to get into MBB post MBA.
LBS 1. Consulting Recruitment - London is a major hub for recruiting. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I've heard that 20-25% of the class comes with sponsored MBAs and will not be looking to recruit thus reducing competition.
2. Work visa and staying long term - Much easier to get Tier2 than an H1-B. Also easier to get citizenship
3. B-school Class - Extremely diverse. Would love to get to know so many cultures. Also extremely chill.
4. Academics - Good profs but can't compare to Booth
5. City - Very accepting towards foreign nationals
Booth1. Consulting Recruitment - USA has a bigger market than London/EU. However, I've heard recruiting into consulting (MBB) is extremely challenging and difficult.
2. Work visa and staying long term - Lottery based H1-B. >10 years for citizenship
3. B-school Class - Extremely smart and intellectually stimulating
4. Academics - Nobel prize winners everywhere. However, mostly for economics. Since I am recruiting for consulting, it's not extremely important.
5. City - Temperatures are insanely low. Also heard a bit about the crime.
