Hello everyone,
I have a unique situation amidst of this pandemic.
I leveraged the pandemic and applied to schools and programs with GMAT score waiver.
To put unnecessary background stories and schools aside, I am left with a final decision to either enroll at Kellogg (PT) or UCLA-NUS Global EMBA program.
I have 9 years of experience started out as an engineer transitioned to project manager.
I've always wanted to live and work outside of United States specifically in APAC region and I feel getting an MBA degree would be beneficial over starting from fresh while risking my current job.
Here is a small profile and please let me know what you guys think.
Name: Mike Choi
Experience:
- 4 years at Samsung as an engineer
- 1 year at a Startup company
- 4 years at Verizon as a Manager/Senior project manager
Goal: Find a career in tech/strategy management in APAC region (preferably high tech FAANG or equivalent local companies).Kellogg (PT)
Pro: - Higher reputation
- Great alumni global presence
Con: - Part time/evening program. Recruiting may be difficult but does it matter since I want to work outside of U.S. after the graduation?
UCLA-NUS EMBA
Pro: - Dual degrees from two prestigious programs, 15 months.
- Every quarter, 2 weeks of global program at Shanghai, Singapore, LA, India (This can be a con during this pandemic).
Con:- EMBA is not strictly a career changer?
- Smaller class with almost zero extra-curricular involvement.
- Start date is undetermined until further notice (Scheduled to start in November of 2020 but may push out to May of 2021).
