Hello,
I will have 3 years of work ex by Fall 2021. 680 on gmat. I am interested in fields ranging from marketing to consulting (still need to figure out) post mba.
I got offers from Rotman & Mcgill Fulltime MBA. I am a NON-french speaker & I am looking to maximize my ROI.
My effective "tuition" fee after the scholarship is Rotman is 41k higher than that for McGill
I just have a couple of days to make the decision, I would love to hear your suggestions and opinions.
Can I rely on https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/c ... y2=Toronto to assume living & misc costs?
+ How feasible is it to go to mcgill & then find a job in toronto instead? would that be wise?

I would in short say- "Go with the money"
Now that said I want to highlight why I said that so that you can effectively apply that in your personal situation
McGill has 44% of its batch going to Toronto- approx 40+% go to Toronto each year. Relevance? That means McGill has network in Toronto and aids in job search.
Non-french speaker- It really doesn't matter as long as you want to live in that one state. Also, the employers of the state want you to have a proficiency in French, you can see that in their ob description.
Post-MBA gain-
The international people in Canada earn about 90k as post-MBA salary.
I know that international students avoid getting paid in the range of 100k-110k. Because a tax point happens at 96k I guess that means that getting a salary in that range is also a loss given your post Tax income will be effectively less than a guy who gets 95k.
Relevance? UofT average lies in the range I stated and even though the average out of McGill is low, effective take home pay or in-hand salary remains nearly same.
So, when it comes down to travel to Toronto to recruit, McGill has recruitment events on campus, and if you look up Alumni and set up coffee chat in Toronto, you will still not be travelling as much to cost you 40k CAD.
The money you save out of the difference can be invested in additional networking (very important in Canada).
Hence, all in all, go with the Money.
I do shy away from going to a french colony because I am not just going to a college, I am going to a city, where I will live, shop and explore too. So, that option is going to be curtailed. If that is a major concern to you, UofT is a direct choice.
