Hi,
I have admits from LBS (no $), Cornell (25%), Kelley (50%).
Background:
- Indian Female
- CA, CFA with 5 years experience in Banking/ Wealth Management
- My idea is to get a global exposure with an MBA so I'm indifferent between London and NYC.
- Post MBA Goal is IB.
Any thoughts on which school would best fit my goal- IB, after considering scholarship?
PrivateUserAM hi,
Shimri Winters here. I head the
ARINGO MBA Admissions Consulting strategy team and am an LBS alumnus.
Congrats on getting into 3 top schools. Well done!
Now, how to choose?
This is really a personal choice, that only you can make…
Here are my two cents:
If you want to live during your MBA and after your MBA in the US, go to one of the US schools. which? Cornell has a better brand and ranking and is great in finance. Between the two US schools, I would "forget" the generous scholarship that Kelly offered and go for Johnson!
On the other hand, LBS offers many advantages – The degree is more international with 90% of the students being foreigners, the brand is very strong all over the world, one of the key specializations is finance, and the school is placed in one of the financial centers of the world, London (plus London is one of the best cities to live in, in the world). I don’t know if you have a spouse, but there are many visa advantages to LBS vs . the US schools as well.
Also, as the degree is shorter and cheaper than the American MBA programs, and you will start working quicker, the degree will cost you less than Cornell, even with their scholarship and have a faster ROI.
LBS has many advantages but keep in mind it doesn’t necessarily lead to a job in the US. So, if you are not keen on living in the US go for LBS! otherwise, Cornell
(obviously, just my thoughts 😊)
Hope this helps
GOOD LUCK!
