Greetings!
First post here - apologies if poor formatting. I just got my news that I was admitted into Kellogg's 1Y Full Time MBA Program in Round 2! Beyond ecstatic, this was my #1 school and #1 program - was a great win during a rough year.
As I'm planning out my next steps, I am hesitant on what to tell my full time employer. I've spoken with a previous manager (who wrote my letter of ref) and he encouraged me to try and do both full time school and my current job. I will say, I currently work in the consumer packaged goods industry as a regional manager for small accounts. I've been with this company 7 years, have a great rapport with my team & manager, and this is one of the 'lighter' roles I've had in terms of workload. As I look at workload capacity, the firm is super flexible on when the work gets done, so long as it gets done...
With Covid still a factor - I imagine the curriculum will be hybrid based with both in-person class and virtual logins. I honestly think this could be advantageous for those who may try and continue working in their full time jobs as helping balance schedules.
I wanted to ask the community their thoughts about this idea. Would this be attainable given the current landscape and my personal situation?

Sorry looks like I missed your post and just stumbled onto it.... definitely a very interesting question.
You can't really do both at the same time, not well at least. I would not do an MBA program while working FT. You can PT (I have done some PT work that was like a TA or manual office work but hard to actually do both and get value out of it). I would not recommend it since it will take a toll on your recruiting, self development, and just engagement in general.
I mean you can do both for a month maybe but you will have to give up something very soon. It is kind of if someone asked you from playing for a second tier baseball team to play on the Yankees team and you were wondering if you had to play and practice full time or if you could still do some games with your old team at the same time. I think the expectation is that you pour your resources into the highest ROI opportunity and in that case it would be your MBA experience.
P.S. Most MBA students get 5-6 hrs of sleep.... I can't see getting any less in that picture

Not to be rude, but this is an absurd question.
It's called a full-time program for a reason.
Kellogg's program is so dedicated to group work, I'm not sure how it's going to work if you need to handle a work obligation, but your group is trying to get things done.
If you want to work while getting an MBA, then do a part-time program, which is designed for working people who don't want to or can't quit their jobs but want to further their education.
