Hi all,
Recently got accepted into Kellogg's PT MBA program and Duke's MSQM online program $. Took a new sales job in a tech company, but my ultimate career goal is to transition into a more strategic or product-related role. It's probably true that neither of these 2 degrees will directly benefit the career pivoting, since at the end of the day it's really how you perform on the job. However, I was wondering how the tech industry values these 2 degrees? I've heard many people say that tech doesn't value an MBA degree that much, plus Duke's MSQM program has many of the MBA classes as its prereq. I'm just wondering if it's worthwhile to pay almost a 3x tuition for Kellogg as oppose to Duke's MSQM.
Thank you!
To answer your question, Kellogg would speak louder in the tech world, as it is attempting to move in that direction, given the MMM program and the iMBA program.
As an aside, for the Kellogg PT acceptance, what Round did you apply to? If you don't mind sharing, what was the sequence and affiliated dates of each stage of your app process? Specifically...
- Rec #1 submitted:
- Rec #2 submitted:
- Total app submitted:
- Invited to interview:
- Interview conducted:
- Decision received:
Also, throughout the above phases, what was the due date of your application round (e.g., app submitted 1/20 for R1 and R1 due date was 1/31)? If you're more comfortable sharing this info via private message, I am happy to oblige!
I'm trying to gauge whether Kellogg releases decisions: 1) before the due date of a given application round, 2) on/after application round due date, or 3) right at ~6 weeks post-interview.
