Applied to 3 b-schools. Got into SOM with 80K over 2 years (40K per year) , and just found out yesterday that I got a named scholarship from Oxford Said that covers all course fees + living stipend.
I'm Canadian, from a non-traditional background (government) and view both schools equally ranking wise (I hadn't heard of M7 or UChicago, northwestern, umich, prior to submitting MBA applications).
I'm not looking to work in the US after graduation. Would like to work in Singapore or return to Canada.
If I went to Oxford, I could keep my current job and take a leave a absence. Then slowly look for another job when I come back to Canada.
If I went to SOM I'd be quitting my job and looking to pivot to consulting. I've heard recruiting outcomes are better at a US b-schools vs the UK, but living in the UK would be safer than the US.
I'd been set on SOM when I thought Oxford was full price, but now that Oxford is free - I'm pretty swayed.
