I see. I would recommend Oxford in that case. Though I would recommend researching crime and probabilities of being involved in a violent crime. Unfortunately that is something I don’t track and can’t comment. In fairness I can’t remember I heard of an attack or a gun crime involving an MBA student. But New Haven does have a few challenging neighborhoods. They have been improving though.

Bottom line, with what you said, Oxford makes perfect sense.

Hey! Congrats on your acceptance - great achievement

I was on the MFE at Oxford so maybe I can give a bit of insight.

The Business School prides itself on being extremely diverse and with an impactful ambition. There are many opportunities to pursue what you're interested in, whether it be consulting cases, IB modelling competitions, or impact investing. The career's department is very strong, however, the MBA's did sometimes struggle to find work immediately after graduation. Having said that, this was in the middle of the pandemic (June 2020). It's probably best to look at current employment stats to get more insight into this.

Oxford is an amazing place--I absolutely love it. So much so, in fact, that I moved here afterwards. You have two bases as an MBA: the business school and a college. Some people found their home in the business school, however, I preferred the college because it was more homely. There are countless formals and some people made it their mission to visit as many colleges as possible. These are good networking opportunities.

Hope this helps and feel free to respond with any more questions.

Best wishes,

Russell
