Hi,
I wanted to seek your insights about the Simon Business School( Uni of Rochester) MBA program starting this July v/s Alliances Manchester Business School MBA which starts this fall. I have been admitted to both, and the tuition fee would almost cost me the same after scholarships at both places. I have no particular preference towards the UK or US. I do have the chartered accountancy degree of the UK. I have about four years of work experience in credit risk.
I do see that Manchester ranks much better than Simon on global rankings but have heard not to focus too much on ranking.
I am looking for any insights into the program recognition , particularly the career support , career opportunity, alumni etc.
This forum has been really supportive & insightful through out my time researching about & applying to different b-schools.

Congrats on your admits. I would recommend researching your future job. Some people think that things will change a lot by the time they graduate or start looking for a job but in reality it is just a year or a year and a half and you will have to do this research in 6 months anyway. One of the item people have regretted when starting business school is not doing enough career/employer/job research ahead of time - finding potential employers, researching their opportunities, etc. It takes a lot of time. Do this!
If you expect the school to hand you a job and you just have to show up and breathe, then you are in for a surprise. Schools do provide opportunities but they are just a tiny bit more than a lead and hundreds of people apply for the best ones so chances are not great, esp if you lack research and knowledge about the company. Do your research. Find companies you want to work for, and positions you are looking for. Look at Linked in and if they have alums of either MBA program and then that should answer your question
