Yes, I would definitely check how much Big 4 are hiring and how much time they spend on campus. Sometimes it is a cursory visit/check vs. they are actively recruiting. That should be pretty easy to get from the employment reports. You also want to chat with students (seems both programs make it very easy) and I would also see about the % of domestic vs. international applicants. You want to keep that ratio of about 60-65% US folks and 35-40% International and not have more international students than that really as otherwise it skews the program and experience. I could not find information about this anywhere so would be good to ask when you chat with a current student. Keep in mind that you won't get any red flags but only subtle hints about "issues" so keep your ears pealed ;-)

Hi! Congrats on your admits!

Moving your topic to a better forum.
The STEM designation will be completely useless for you! It is only helpful if you are looking to get a work permit.

And yes, a year or so ago, a few schools came out with pretty ridiculous letters for admits that said they are not responsible for placement. Of course schools are not responsible for placement.

I am not sure what the MS rankings are for these programs. I can say Simon is much more finance heavy and advanced.... probably would be a good fit for someone thinking about Finance and CPA but I would get a better sense of how you are planning to use the degree.. .if it is just a stepping stone for a CPA, then perhaps you take the lower cost option.... but if you are serious about Finance/Accounting, I think Simon is a strong contender.

Hey, thanks for the reply!

Carroll and Simon seem to have pretty close MSA rankings from what I could find. That is interesting to note that Simon may have a superior finance focus. Definitely something for me to consider.

In regards to my plans, I'm hoping to work for a Big Four in financial statement auditing post-graduation. I'll be sitting for the CPA exam in NY and aim to work around the city. I vaguely remember reading that Carroll grads have higher than average pass rates on the CPA but I would need to double check on that. I suppose a pretty important factor for me would be career services and the recruitment presence of the Big Four at the schools.
