RightAwaySir
I just got accepted into both. Which one would you choose? I'm in LA and want to stay in LA, so leaning towards USC.
- Boston University is $24K
- USC is $131K
Goals are to work in entertainment, consulting, or tech.
Would USC really be worth $100K more?
Congratulations on both acceptances,
RightAwaySir. I think your third line says it all: you want to stay in LA. So why move? Yes, a 100K is a lot of money upfront, but the ROI may be greater—USC offers better employment prospects upon graduation and has more prestige—not to mention that you would have to factor in a cross-country move and at least a $3K-a-month rent for a decent shoebox-sized apartment in the Boston area. A successful businessperson can pay off $100K in no time. If you had a family of your own to consider, I might focus more on sticker prices. Finally, your goals appear to align more with USC specialties than with those at BU. If I sound biased, let me clarify that I am more of a Boston (area) person myself, but based on what you have written, I would say USC seems to be the ticket.
Good luck, whatever you decide.
