Super thrilled with all the results but also torn between choices. Would love to hear your opinions.
Myself:
- 32F with 9-years of R&D experience in a very niche area of CPG lived in the mid-west most of my life in the US. Currently lives in TX and can see me stay in the area for the foreseeable future, but not completely certain in the long term. Longer-term do not consider Asia as the target location, open to EU but most likely will try to get back to the US.
- Went to US state school as an international student and am currently on H1B with a pending green card from the company, close to get one but if go in the Fall then will not be able to get it before leaving to school
Goal:
- Brand Management or Strategy Consulting (open to internal and external) immediately post-MBA and return to corporate long-term
I'll list some pro's and con's for the schools but will limit them to two each so as to not bore you guys.
INSEAD (potential $ or could be 0, but won't know until a later date while needing a decision now with huge amount of deposit $11000 Euros)
Pros:
- Top ranked global school with only 10 months opportunity cost, once in a lifetime international experience
- Best recruiting pipeline to MBB and consulting in general
Cons:
- Outside the US, risk of not being able to come back to North America given my work authorization situation especially no internship in between
- Out-of-pocket cost will be 155k including living expenses over the 10 months.
Ross (0)
Pros:
- Top-ranked US school with MAP and roader network, liked the people I met, and love the masterclasses
- Great recruiting pipeline to MBB and consulting in general; also great network brand management to CPG but given the international student situation, would likely rely more on off-campus
Cons:
- Super cold for 2 years, do not expect to stay in the mid-west or recruit for the east coast after
- Costs the most, out-of-pocket cost will be 200k including living expenses over the 2 years
McCombs (Covered full tuition)
Pros:
- Biggest name and best alumni network in TX
- Only need to pay living expense over 2 years so no debts
Cons:
- Limited strategy consulting recruiting both internal and external; Ok network for brand management also need to rely off-campus
- lack of international presence or experience
