Hi All -
I've been offered a position at the FTMBA program at both, the Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) and the Alliance Manchester Business School. I understand that there are also other options such as Imperial, Warwick, etc., but these are the two I've narrowed down my choices to.
I've worked in the Consulting domain in India for about 5 years, and have been currently working in London for the last year or so. My post MBA aim is to either move to a better opportunity in the Consulting world itself or move into a strategic management role in the UK, not necessarily in London.
I've spoken with alumni at both places and the principal difference that proponents of Bayes tell me is that it has the advantage of being in London. I understand how that might be a stark advantage compared to a school like (say) Cranfield that has to depend on London for networking connect, being based in a smaller town, but I'm not sure if that is such an advantage compared to Manchester, a big city as well. In any case, I find it hard to believe that potential employers would go to recruit in a school just cause it's down the road from them. Apart from that, living in London would be comparatively more expensive, but I'm fine with the cost aspect either way. Also, I'm slightly concerned about the reputation of City, UoL itself as compared to UoM, but not sure if that is really pertinent.
Rankings are for both are fairly compatible, with Manchester only being slightly above Bayes in most places. Hence the need for help. If anyone can help me with this choice, I'd be most grateful.
