Any money involved? Duke is probably the better overall program at this point in time, but GTown has its strengths and appears to be on the rise.

I didn't know you were IN at Duke. Congrats from a fellow admit ! What other schools are in the mix ?

partial scholarship to Duke.

Have not applied to G-town, hence the question - deciding if it is worth the effort (eveyything by essays is already submitted, even had an interview)

It would be hard to come up with a general reason for picking Gtwn over Duke except perhaps someone seeking a joint degree at Georgetown's Walsh or JHU's SAIS in DC.

I am in similar dilemma. Applied to Georgetown and Duke for the Class of 2014. Got admission at both schools. Gtown provided 10k scholarships for each year. Currently, I live and work in DC area so location-wise and scholarship-wise Gtown sounds attractive to me. However, I would like to hear from the forum on whether to go for Duke or Gtown. I think both schools carry equal names locally but when it comes to the network and accessibility to some top-notch employers, career services, academics, and network of students and alumni, Duke seems to have higher ratings among MBA seekers. Would like to hear from you guys. I need to decided soon as my first choice programs (Booth and Johnson) has waitlisted me.

Thanks,
Pidit

I'm about 90% sure you should pick Duke. The only reasons to go to G-town would be:
-you absolutely love DC and never want to leave
-you hate Durham
-you didn't like your experience at Duke (assuming you've visited)
-you want to work in federal consulting or in some sort of government position

The scholarship money really shouldn't matter...what do you want to do post-MBA?
