Mays, PMBA vs. Jones, Hybrid-MBA vs. Ross, Online MBA.
Hello everyone!
I’m seeking candid and brutally honest feedback on which program YOU would choose and WHY you would choose it if you were in my current situation.
All responses are welcome. I am looking for the good, the bad, and the ugly. I have to make a decision by tomorrow at noon.
Here we go:
Rice, Jones School of Business - Hybrid-MBA (accepted); Texas A&M University, Mays School of Business - PMBA (accepted); University of Michigan, Ross School of Business - Online MBA (interview).
***I’m based out of Dallas, Texas.
I would love an opportunity to leverage your perspective as to which program would be most beneficial for me in the long-term.
I am looking to stay in the financial services industry. I will be targeting a transition from Business Bank (Business Relationship Manager) into an associate role in Middle-Market bank (Commercial Banker) at the same firm (JPMorgan Chase & Co.).
Ideally, I would love an opportunity to transition into management consulting at a Big-4 firm, but this is in my wishlist. I know internships are a must for roles like this one, so I’m not aiming too high here.
What are your thoughts? Fire away!

Considering your desire to transition into a mid-market banking role at JPMorgan or potentially pursue management consulting, the Rice Hybrid-MBA and the University of Michigan Online MBA seem more aligned with your goals. They both offer strong reputations and potential networking opportunities. However, it's important to thoroughly research and evaluate the specific curriculum, alumni networks, and career services offered by each program to determine the best fit for your long-term aspirations.
If you hadn't said MBB, I'd have said stick with Rice. But when you throw MBB in there, it's clearly Ross. But, I am sure you'll be able to find even Rice-Jones grads in McKinsey Houston and Bain Austin/Dallas/Houston offices. So, you can leverage that network too, if you choose to go ahead with Rice.
