I have been admitted to the full-time MBA programs at SMU Cox and UTD JSOM for the Fall 2023 intake and received attractive scholarships from both institutions. However, I am facing a dilemma in choosing between the two. I seek the advice of this forum to help me make the right decision.
SMU Cox - After the scholarship, the tuition cost amounts to $36,000
UTD JSOM - After the scholarship, the tuition cost amounts to $20,000
The option to pursue a dual degree in MBA and MSBA at UTD is available, and the tuition for this combination is similar to that of SMU Cox. Is dual MBA/MSBA a better alternative to only an MBA?
I am a 32-year-old Indian male with ten years of experience in project management within the construction industry and some entrepreneurial background. My post-MBA goals involve pursuing roles in leadership, consulting, and specializing in risk, strategy, and finance.

Since UTD JSOM comes under the broader UT umbrella, that should provide you some added advantages which may not be available to SMU Cox. UT as university has a a very strong presence across Texas (more than SMU) and hence should have a wider alumni network and more recognition with prospective employers across Texas. SMU Cox is also an equally strong program, but I would be slightly more incline towards UTD given the affiliation to the UT umbrella.
