Hi all,
I've been accepted into the Scheller, Broad and Terry and waiting to hear from Owen.
My Background:
Indian National, Chemical Engineer, age 31 and working in operations in oil and gas industry for 9 years.
Post MBA career goals:
Want to continue in Operations/SCM function but open to work in any industry. I am interested in roles such as Amazon Pathway Operations Manager, Emerson LDP and operations consulting roles in AlixPartners, Kearney and EY.
I got generous scholarship from all the three schools and I don't want to take too much debt on me.
Scheller - GRA position- Cost of Attendance - 28K
Broad - Fellowship - Cost of Attendance - 38K
Terry - GA position - Cost of Attendance - 0K
After talking to students at the schools, I understand all three schools are good in operations but Broad stands out.
Considering my age, I am skewed towards Scheller as they have excellent Career Services but in Broad, I don't want have to work. So, that free time can be dedicated to my studies. At Terry, I have to do MBA-MS Business Analytics to get STEM. So, that takes some time and electives from my choices.
I am eager to hear your thoughts! Thank you in advance.

I don’t have as much visibility into the career services at these programs so it is awesome you have talked to students.
If you think you can the value out of Broad or Scheller. If you feel their career services can help you better than the other programs or if they have certain connections that you feel would be a much better chance, then sure.
A lot of your experience will depend on the chance and opportunities that will bump into you it’s a little bit hard to predict the outcome but not knowing a lot about the supply chain management area, I would pick the free mba with the biggest scholarship.
PS. Graduate assistantship is a great thing by the way. It’s a plus to have it. First of all it’s free money. You never work the hours they tell you to work second, imagine you now have to interface with one of the professors perhaps one who is very well-connected in the industry and has a lot of connections with alumni who could probably help you easily find a job if you put in good effort and impress them. Of course one could be absorbing the knowledge of accounting and metro economics instead and read through books but I personally prefer networking and a job after I graduate 😜 so my suggestion would be Terry but that is a pretty superficial view.
