I have received admissions offers from Cambridge Judge, INSEAD, and Oxford Said, with my ultimate aim being entrepreneurship. I plan to reside in the UK, where I do not require a visa, and I am not planning in pursuing a career in finance, consulting, or big tech post-MBA.

Between Oxford and Cambridge, I lean heavily towards Cambridge, primarily due to its more pronounced focus on entrepreneurship, the city itself, and my positive interactions with the staff/school during the admissions process.

I'd like to get peoples opinions regarding INSEAD vs Judge.

The things I care about:

  • Quality of education: I value the course structure, faculty expertise, and opportunities to engage with visiting speakers.
  • Relevance to entrepreneurship: The program's alignment with my entrepreneurial goals is crucial. (I know that INSEAD has produced some cracking entrepreneurs, i.e. a greater number than Cambridge, and more successful, but I wonder if that's because of it has been around for longer, and the cohort is larger, i.e. is the education at INSEAD actually better for someone wanting to go down the entrepreneurship path?

The things I don't care about (or care less):

  • Rankings
  • Consulting/finance/big tech career
  • Programme cost

The thinigs I am not sure that I care about:

  • Alumni Network: Alumni network. For sure INSEAD has a bigger network, but to a certain extent it doesn't matter to me if there are 1000s alumini in the middle east (or should it?)

I'm eager to hear your insights or experiences, anything else I should consider, especially from those who faced/are facing a similar decision.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

@mbapenguin I am quite late in responding to this thread, but I wanted to share my thoughts here nonetheless, hoping that someone in the future may benefit from a more diverse perspective. In my personal observation, even though INSEAD is known as a consulting school, there is an inside whisper that goes among the alumni community about INSEAD really being an Entrepreneurship-focused school. The consulting and corporate aspirations gradually fade a couple of years down post graduation due to the intense work pressure, and most people I have known who went into consulting left within 1-2 years and started something of their own. The large presence of INSEAD alumni in the VC and investor space benefits the new founders (INSEADers) immensely, and it's not a surprise so many INSEADers are able to raise capital successfully by being able to tap into the INSEAD network. Therefore, if anybody has this clear in their mind that they want to get into entrepreneurship or get into an early-stage startup at some point, they should definitely consider INSEAD.

From your write-up, it is not clear whether you require (or not) a VISA for the UK irrespective of where you study from. If you have a British passport or work authorization, you could really leverage INSEAD for any network support or raising capital in the future.
