Hi! I am a fresher from India, finished my undergrad in commerce from a tier-1 college. I applied for the European MiMs as I want a global career, like Europe a lot from what I know about it from football, travel, etc., and aim to get into strategy consulting; the chances of that were not available back home after my commerce degree from where I studied.
I have admits from St. Gallen, Switzerland, for their flagship SIM program and also the ESCP Europe MiM Program for the September 2024 intake. I had St. Gallen in mind as my first preference due to the focus on strategy and my goal of a consulting career. However, I am also excited by the opportunity at ESCP to study multiple semesters in different countries. Particularly, the London and Madrid options excite me, along with the IB and consulting specializations, apart from the main Paris campus. However, I have not interacted much with alumni or students in either of these colleges in detail to get the ground reality and want to know if the programs are as good as the hype/rankings do because, back home, the rankings do not convey the whole picture at all.
I do not speak German or French at all; however, I am looking to learn as much as I can. I recognize that it will be very difficult to learn a language along with these courses and that I might not get the level of fluency that companies expect. I am reading a lot about how it is not easy for non-German or non-Swiss students to get jobs in Switzerland after the SIM, and I am looking for advice, information, and anything else that can shed more light on what I can expect from these programs. The monetary fees is not a deciding factor between the two, but I am looking for scholarship options, grants, and learning about the living expense requirements to ensure I minimize my costs as much as possible. Thanks in advance for your insights and advice. Thanks for reading!
