I am a 30M with a MPP and seven years in working in the education and public policy space. I have a BA with a 3.7 gpa and an MPP with a 3.7 gpa (not from any elite schools). GMAT 665 and GRE Q168 and V167. I am hoping to pivot into consulting through the MBA. However, Tepper offered me a full ride. I know Yale and UVA are great schools and have great outcomes for consulting, especially for MBB, but I am not convinced its worth the tremendous amount of debt when I could go to Tepper for free. What do you all think? Are the consulting outcomes at Yale and UVA worth it? Also, I tried negotiating with with the schools and did not receive any additional scholarship.
Hi
jmsc_11. I am with you, esp since MBB is VERY competitive and you may not get picked/selected/etc.
There are 2 chances technically but there is no reason why you would not be able to perform as well for your Fall recruiting internship round.
P.S. Yale and Darden have a much stronger consulting club and that's one reason that they do better. I would recommend doing as much consulting prep and interview as you can on a side outside of the school and in the summer perhaps with a case coach type of a program for a fraction of the price
