Hello,
I'm a 24-year-old Spanish student with the following experience:
I hold a degree in Business Administration and Management from a non-target university in Spain, with a GPA of 7.5/10.
I'm currently considering the following programs and would appreciate any advice:
Given my background and career goals, and considering Finance-focused vs. Management (Finance track) programs, which of these two options do you think would best position me to break into top-tier firms such as bulge bracket banks, leading consulting firms, or IB boutiques?

- 1 internship in retail banking (12 months)
- 1 internship in Sales in the Tech sector (12 months)
- 1 full-time job in a family-run IT consultancy (6 months)
I hold a degree in Business Administration and Management from a non-target university in Spain, with a GPA of 7.5/10.
I'm currently considering the following programs and would appreciate any advice:
- Esade Master in Finance (MiF): A one-year program with the possibility of extending to a second year at a top business school (e.g., Bocconi, HEC, Erasmus, St. Gallen) if certain requirements are met. The program offers two tracks: Investment Banking (IB) and Financial markets (FM). My concern is that, due to my non experience in finance, I might struggle to secure a full-time job or internship after graduation. Esade is 14th in MIF Financial Times ranking.
- emlyon Grande École Master in Management (MiM): A three-year program with a gap year and opportunities for specialization. I see value in the gap year, as it would allow me to pursue off-cycle internships and better prepare for a full-time role upon graduation. Emlyon is 8th MiM in Financial times ranking

Hi for the benefit of other students with similar profiles I would suggest to go for ESADE MIF as it's more relevant to your goals plus language won't be an issue. While emylons program is reputed in France, it will not really open doors the roles you are looking for despite the internship component. ESADE has a 3 months internship component and even without work ex, you can utilise that to open doors for full time jobs later. Also MIF programs generally dont need work ex but a strong motivation and clear goals to convert that into a full time role in the related field. ESADE's reputation is unmatched in spain and Europe so that would be a better fit. Hope this helped. Also interested to know what did you finally choose?
