I would appreciate the community’s input as I finalize my decision between two Canadian MBA offers, particularly from those familiar with recruiting outcomes for international students. While I understand Toronto has a larger job market, it also has more competing graduates from Rotman, Schulich, Ivey, Smith etc.
Offers- UBC Sauder MBA – No scholarship (tuition ~CAD 108K)
- York Schulich MBA – CAD 25K scholarship (tuition after scholarship ~CAD 98K)
Background- 7+ years in tech and digital products
- Post-MBA goal: Transition into product management, growth/strategy, or analytics roles in Canada (tech, digital platforms, payment channels etc)
Decision factors I am trying to evaluate- For international students, which program currently shows stronger internship to full-time conversion outcomes in product, or analytics roles?
- Relative employer reach and alumni strength in Toronto vs. Vancouver for these functions
- Whether Schulich’s scholarship meaningfully changes ROI compared to any placement advantage Sauder may offer
- Differences in hands-on experiential learning, consulting projects, or internship support that materially affect recruiting success
- Any recent recruiting trend changes (2023–2025) that applicants should realistically factor into decisions
Would greatly appreciate perspectives from current students, recent graduates, or applicants who evaluated both schools before deciding.
