I’d love perspective from current students, alumni, or anyone who weighed Booth vs. Kellogg for a part-time MBA.
I’m deciding between:
1. Booth Part-Time MBA with a $40k scholarship
2. Kellogg Accelerated Part-Time MBA with 2.5-credits waiver. (they will come back regarding scholarship in next few days but lets ignore for now)
Background: I’m an AI/Analytics Engineering Lead at a Fortune 25 healthcare insurance company in Chicago, making around $170k. I can’t relocate or do a full-time MBA because I have a young kid.
Goals: I want to build on my AI/data/analytics background and move into higher-paying managerial roles in Analytics Data/tech/AI strategy. In the short term, I’ll be targeting roles like Director of Data/AI Strategy. I want to accelerate within my current field rather than make a complete career pivot.
I’m weighing Booth’s analytical, finance, and strategy strengths against Kellogg’s collaborative culture, leadership focus, and consulting/general management brand.
For someone staying in Chicago and trying to maximize salary growth and local career value, which would you choose: Booth or Kellogg?
