One thing I've noticed is that many ISB applicants jump straight into their essays before taking the time to think through their overall application strategy.
In reality, some of the most important work happens before the first essay draft.
Before you begin writing, it helps to have clear answers to a few questions:
1. Why is this the right time for an MBA?
2. What are your short- and long-term career goals?
3. Which experiences best reflect your leadership and impact?
4. What do you want your recommenders to emphasize?
Taking the time to answer these questions early makes the rest of the application much easier. Your essays become more focused, your resume supports your story, and your recommendations reinforce the same message.
