Hi,
Requesting feedback/evaluation on my profile.
An HR professional with international experience of more than a decade in senior HR delivery roles across major firms. I'm exploring a change in career path from corporate to academia. I don't possess a full master's degree but a post grad certificate in HR from XLRI, India. An undergraduate degree in computer engineering(unimpressive grades).
My approach is to target either a direct PhD program if I get accepted or a take a full time masters by research program and progress into PhD.
I intend to take the GMAT in November and submit applications for 2021.
Interested research area - Performance management in International context.
Requesting experts' information/advice on such career track changes.
My profile brief -
Work Experience - 11 years.
2007-present - HR delivery - from executive to senior manager level.
Industries worked - IT(Mphasis, Accenture), Retail(Red-Tag, Sports Direct).
Locations - India, UAE, Kuwait.
Education -
B.E - Computer Engineering - 2007 - Goa University, India
PG Cert - 2011, XLRI, India.

I wish that PhD aspirants stop asking for profile evaluation.
I have written a very long post on my own PhD journey - please read that.
A few things - work experience does not matter at all in your PhD application.
What do you want to research (you have indicated it)? What specific lines of enquiry you want to pursue? Which professors have done or are doing related research? Start connecting with them NOW! Networking helps.
The deadlines will hit you like a train, and you wont be able to think.
Get at least 3 recommenders on board and manage them well.
GMAT! Oh, I can't overstate its importance... but I guess, for HR, they may have a relaxed view.
Still, try to be in vicinity of 700.

I would suggest you to a take a full time masters by research program and progress into PhD if you wish to get into the top programs.
