Starting a thread for applicants targeting Melbourne Business School (MBS) for the 2026 intake.
I interviewed in Round 1 (mid-December) and, with the summer break underway, I’m trying to understand whether the current silence indicates a rollover to mid-January or a final decision already made.
For those who’ve already heard back (admit, waitlist, or reject), it would be really helpful if you could share your timeline. This should help us gauge whether applications are still being processed or if the admissions team is on holiday.

1. The Summer Break Context
The University of Melbourne (and MBS) is currently in its Summer Term Period, which officially runs from November 24, 2025, to March 1, 2026.
MBS generally states that outcomes are provided approximately six weeks after the round closing date. However, for Round 1 (which closed December 1, 2025), the six-week mark is slightly skewed by the two-week Christmas/New Year shutdown.
If you interviewed in mid-December and haven't heard back:
My Strict Advice for You:
Do not assume a "no news is bad news" stance yet. However, if you do not hear anything by January 31, I recommend a polite "follow-up" email to the admissions office. Since you are an international applicant (based on your profile), you have a valid reason to ask about the timeline to manage visa and housing logistics.
