Anyone else on this form coming from a professional background in Digital Marketing? Particularly PPC, SEO, or Social Media? Im curious what Admissions officers think of this background. I've been told that its a good place to be since it's not very common yet a high in demand job field. I plan to go into a Marketing track so Im hoping that my background in Digital will be helpful (since that is where everything seems to be going these days! and nobody seems to really know how to do it well)

I currently specialise in digital marketing for an alcohol retailer but also was the project manager for a major eCommerce platform development and launch. I've however done traditional marketing previously as well so my background isn't solely digital. Totally agree with you though that nobody seems to really know how to do digital marketing well! 
I think if your post MBA goal is to go into marketing then your background would be very useful. Me, I'm looking to switch to consulting so I focused more on the project management aspect rather than just the digital marketing aspect. It really depends how you spin it and what school you're applying to. Good luck!

My response is way after the fact, but from my experience, adcoms have liked it when I play up the analytical/real time optimization component of PPC. Being in PPC in particular is also helpful because the bidded model is really applicable to the future of advertising overall (programmatic buying and all that) so it's easy to make a case that you could be an asset amidst the changing face of media buying.
If you're planning to go into brand management or channel planning, digital marketing is good experience to have! Like xyeek, I'm looking to make a career change; I plan to go into consulting with a focus on organizational structure.
