Chicago Booth EMBA Still Open for Applications
Some applicants have asked us whether they should consider applying to Chicago Booth’s EMBA program even though the deadline has passed. It is an outstanding program, one of the best among EMBA programs, and as of 4/27/2016, this is what the Booth website says:
SUBMISSION DEADLINES
The application deadlines for the 2016 intake have passed, but we will continue to accept applications as space remains available. If you are interested in applying for this year's program, please contact the admissions office.
Should you try to secure a spot at Booth under these circumstances? If you are a qualified candidate, you should contact the admissions office and speak with them about applying at this time, after the official deadlines have passed. They may ask you to send your resume, so make certain to have a resume that is ready for them to examine as they decide whether or not to permit you to apply. The admissions committee recognizes that professionals at the EMBA level are busy and you simply may have realized you wanted further education recently, therefore you missed their original deadlines. A late submission will likely not hurt you if you are a qualified candidate and present an outstanding application.
If you are a candidate with notable weaknesses to override in order to gain admission, however, it may not be the best idea to submit an application when there are few seats left and you are applying after the official deadline. But you can always be in touch with Booth and let them guide you in deciding whether to apply right now.
