So, the good news is I got admits from the only two schools I applied to. And honestly I wasn't expecting to get an admit from Kellogg! Fuqua hinted they might give a bit of scholarship (~$20k) and Kellogg might do the same although it's a bit more competitive.
About me -
Mid 30s, energy sector professional, 14 yrs work ex, located in the Atlanta suburbs, planning to stay in the sector but may not be with my current employer, long-term goals are to be in strategy/VC in energy/clean tech.
Spoke to several people in both programs and they only have great things to say.
Kellogg-
Pros:
- big brand
- more experienced cohort
- larger alumni network
- global weeks
Cons:
- costs $70k more
- travel twice monthly
- smaller cohort
Fuqua
Pros:
- has a bit more energy focus through their EDGE center
- once a month travel
- larger cohort hence more networking opportunities
- decent brand for $150k (yes, not M7 but still "Fuqua"!)
- lifetime access to executive education free of tuition
Cons:
- brand! NOT Kellogg
- younger cohort who see EMBA as more of a part-time MBA route
- smaller alumni network, perhaps more local to the south too
Having a tough time deciding. Problem is that Kellogg scholarship isn't certain till July and Fuqua cohort starts in May.
I know there's no wrong answer between two great schools, but
I'd really appreciate any advice as my brain is fried discussing this all week with my spouse!
Thanks so very much in advance.
