I'm wondering if anyone on this forum ever did the switch from marketing to finance (IB/MC/VC) through getting a finance MBA. There's a lot of talk of engineers going this route, but usually people in marketing end up going to brand management and etc. Anyhow, any help would be much appreciated.
A friend of mine successfully moved from a marketing role to investment banking after getting his MBA. The key is to get a summer internship. You need to have a good reason why you want to make the switch and what you can bring to the table (making pretty charts may count!).

Agree about internship. Btw, what position and in what country did your friend accepted accepted after graduation?
