I'm interested in pursuing corporate development jobs such as managing in-house acquisitions and divestitures. Would corporate finance be a better starting point or a few years in investment banking make more sense before pursuing a role in corporate development?
I am from the high-tech industry and would very much like to pursue corp. dev in the high-tech later on. I'm debating whether a few years in corp. fin or in IB makes the most sense as a post-mba position.
thanks,
