Hi

Please share any information regarding Monitor Consulting and Business Social Responsibility Consulting companies.
My Post MBA goal is to work in Consultign companies specialize in CSR/Social responsibility and heard these two companies are the Leaders.

any info is much appreciated

As far as I know Monitor is not really known for CSR work. They are a very highly respected botique strategy consulting firm that does more marketing work than many others. I could be wrong, but I've never heard that they specialize in CSR. If anything they're known for marketing. Pretty much every firm will have some sort of nonprofit practice but usually it's only around 5% of their work (unless you are talking about a firm that specializes in this area like Bridgespan). Have heard of BSR, but don't know very much about them.

Are you talking about bridge span, i searched the web and it looks like its more of a recruitment agency for senior management along with some management consulting.

Monitor has got an institute whose focus is on social Entrepreneurship.https://www.monitorinstitute.com/. This is part of the bigger monitor consulting group and they help lot of Social Entrepreneurs also business leaders to blend social responsibility to their business strategy

Bridgespan is a nonprofit that does strategy consulting for nonprofits. Was started by some partners from Bain. I think they have a related company that offers nonprofit recruitment or something.

What you need to find out is how Monitor Institute hires. Is it seperate from the general consulting firm? If yes it's likely very limited and self directed. If it is through campus with the consulting firm then you need to find out how much work they do in this area relative to other work. Also, you need to decide if you are okay with doing some work in this area, but working on other projects as well. I know Monitor doesn't specialize by industry so you likely wouldn't be able to work exclusively on this type work. Might be able to increase the percentage after you get experience, build relationships etc

Just something to think about....

Thanks for you info. this triggered me to search for oppurtunities and i was able to figure out many start ups working in CSR consulting field.Should be able to convince the adcom that this is a viable short term goal....

please feel free to share any info you have or your thoughts on whether CSR consulting be a viable realistic short term goal
