Hi All,
Is there anyone here that works for Kaplan / PR and can give some advice on what they are looking for in their 5 minute "audition?" I'm looking to tutor GMAT for a part time job and was told that I needed to go through this - but I'm kind of confused as to what they're looking for..
Can anyone share their experiences here?

My older sister, who auditioned for Kaplan, taught her five minute lesson on the conjugation of Czech verbs.
On the other hand, I taught mine on the construction of death-traps for spies invading your evil lair.
What we are looking for are the things that make a good teacher--you must be confident in your knowledge of the subject, you must be an engaging presenter, you must be able to elicit student participation, and you must be able to adhere to the five minute time limit.

Gutie859, the 5-minute presentation is really just a way for Princeton Review/Kaplan folks to see how you do in front of the classroom. I'm an active teacher for Princeton Review and I did my 5-minute presentation on the Basics of Texas Hold'em. Before I taught that, I asked if it was appropriate and the folks in the office explained to me that you can teach anything you want, as long as you can make it interesting and engaging for the listener. Be goofy, that can help as well. The presentation will allow the Princeton Review/Kaplan people know if you'll be a good speaker in front of the class.
