I work as IT professional from last 10 years and currently am working in the capacity of business analyst (BA) where part of my job involves interacting with clients. I got PMP (Project Management Certification) last year but have come to a point at work place where I cant go any above than the BA position. Also, changing jobs at this point is not an option because of my visa/GC status in which I cant change employers. My future goal is to get into a managerial/executive position and have been thinking about MBA for some time now. Like many others in this forum, I aspire to get into one of the best business school some time next year. I am ready to put all my efforts into GMAT and get a good score but the question that is lingering in my mind is whether it will be worth for me to go for a full time MBA in a good business school or I should rather pursue a part time or an executive mba.
As you aren't an Exec, you may find it difficult to get on an Exec MBA - they are very much more based on experience of the participants.
Full time is still an option, with you being at the upper end of the age range. You really need to be sure your visa status isn't wrecked as a result though as there are a lot of conditions you need to fulfill.
