If option D is correct...then is it necessary to get same answers from option A and B....or the answers could be different...Anyone knows what is official answer to this question?

almost always on ETS questions if the Ans is D than both A n B would agree on the same ans

Yes, both A & B should have same results.

No need to have same answer from both the questions. DS QUESTIONS ARE THERE TO CHECK: whether the data given is sufficient to get unambiguous - single answer to the question.

I would tell you one more interesting thing: Once you are adamant that both choices A and B are able to answer the question, dont calculate til final answer.

No Dharmin, both statements should give us the same answer. If you find any questions from ETS giving different ans for st.1 and st.2 you can post it here.
