You have posted it in the correct forum. Thanks for that. Alternatively, you could have just asked the question in the same thread you posted the link for.
To answer your question: Yes, Data Interpretation is included in the gmat and you may get questions like these.
IanStewart/Karishma can give us an elaborate answer as to what is the approximate chance of getting these in any test.

It is not uncommon to see a Data Interpretation question in the exam. They are generally quite straight forward. Just basic application of Statistics. But you may see one, maximum two or none at all. If I were you, I would hope to get one since they are not tricky!
The integrated reasoning section of GMAT 2012 will be based on these type of questions. Combination of Critical Reasoning and interpreting charts and data sets. That will be more challenging I think. But there is a subtle message here. GMAC is telling you that they feel that this skill is important. So I think you should make sure you understand such questions well even if you plan to take GMAT before June 2012.
