A teacher gave the same test to two classes: A and B. The average scores for the two classes were 82, 74, respectively. The median scores for the two classes were 80, 78, respectively. Was the average score greater than the median scores for the two classes combined?
1) A and B have 37, 40 students, respectively.
2) Two classes have 77 students.

state 1: Avg for the class = (82*37 + 40*74 ) /77 ~ 77.84

I think median of a combined set will be gr8 than the lowest median and less than the highest median. So the median will be bet 78 and 80...so ans is NO...suff


state 2...no way to calculate the mean...insuff
