Hi,
I recently took the GMAT and was a little disappointed with my quant score. I was hoping to be in the 75th percentile, but I am in the 68th. This is mainly because the GMAT percentile table has gone up throughout the years. However, I wanted to know how good is a GMAT quant score of 47? Do schools only care about the percentile score or do they also look at the raw score?

The folks in the admissions committees typically consider a score of 80th percentile to be quant proficient. I am saying this based on my students who have gotten this number either during interviews or general discussion with the admission folks. Now this does not mean that students with lower scores don't get accepted in the higher ranked schools, they do but they have other things in their profile that might compensate for that, for example good grades in quant heavy courses in colleges, etc. Also, many of the schools may require students with lower quant scores to do some quant prerequisite courses.
I would say ask this question to the admissions folks at the schools you are targeting.
