for me it is (A)
the green lines are equal, whereas the red ones are not!
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm pretty bad at coordinate plan

Is it A? Although C is an obvious answer, I think we don't need (2)

Circle can be represented by

x^2+y^2 = 50^2 --(1)
Q is on the circle

1) x- co-ord of Q = -30

=> y = +/-40. Hence Q ia either (-30,40) or (-30,-40)

The distance from (-30,40) to (50,0) and distance from (-30,-40) is the same. Hence SUFF.

2) y- co-ord = -40 => Q is (-30,-40) or (30, -40). The distances are not the same hence INSUFF.

Agree with Giddi.

I think it should be A, the line segment formed from two points of Q and P forms a triangle where two sides equal (the name of these kind of triangle suddenly slipped from my mind), so it doesn't really matter what the y coordinate is.

You are absolutely right. Why doubt when you have got the right answer? :wink:

BTW your diagrams are amazing.
