It is common misconception that if both statements individually give answer , then answer should be same. Whereas this is not necessary we need to determine whether we can get an unique value from each statement .The values can be or cannot be same.
examples
1)is X>5 ?
i)x=7
ii)x=3
Solution :
i) 7>5
so Yes
Sufficient
ii)3<5
so No
but sufficient to answer question
D is answer
In above example , although each statement gives different answer but still they are sufficient to answer question alone.
2) is X>5
i)x=7
ii)x=9
Solution :
i)7>5
Yes
sufficient
ii)9>5
yes
sufficient
D is answer

The above is totally wrong.
On the GMAT, two data sufficiency statements always provide TRUE information and these statements never contradict each other or the stem.
