Hi all. Can i please get some advice on Quant? I've been studying for the GMAT for about a month, but I cannot solve any quant problems on my own. Whenever I try to practice quant problems I just feel completely lost. Looking at the answers/ solving methods makes sense to me, but I would never be able to get there on my own.

I have purchased MGMAT foundations of math, and I've watched a couple of Thursdays with Ron videos.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice, please?

Firstly, i would suggest you to be a little confident because everything is doable.

You need to first clear your basics. I shall suggest you to first read all the Quant basics.

Manhattan Gmat Quant books should help you out and you may download these books online.

Secondly, after understanding your basics i would suggest you to start solving official guide and rectify and evaluate your mistakes but note that this is the second step.

Do this and keep practicing. I am sure you will find a lot of improvement.

What is your diagnostic test score? If you are below 40 i suggest you to go with eGMAT. Check 30 days trails version, if you are comfort with that you can purchase full course

I agree with the previous posters - take a deep breath and remind yourself that studying for the GMAT is a learning process. If you were really unfamiliar with math before you started studying, you're not going to wake up one morning and suddenly be able to solve everything. And there are a lot of steps along the way from zero to mastery - you probably have learned a lot since you've been studying, you just haven't quite gotten past the point where you're able to consistently use what you know to solve problems.

Finally, what have you done with Foundations of Math so far? Have you worked through all of the chapters? Done the drills? Have you made flashcards/cheat sheets? Also, what happens when you try to solve the easier problems from the very beginning of the Official Guide - do you get the right answer but take too much time, or do you not know where to start, or somewhere in between?
