agree w sqrt(24^2 + 10^2) = 26

26.

Since the guy walks 42ft east and then 18ft west, we have the difference 24ft which become one of the sides of the triangle, the other side is 10.
this is multiple of the right triangle 5:12:13
therefore 10:24:26
