Yes, it's possible to get 48+, with 2-3 easy questions in last set, 7-8 questions, of quant section.

Thanks all, will let you know how it goes. Took the exam on Friday. Scored 50-51 on all 6 of the official practices so was a bit alarmed to see the last question be ridiculously easy on the actual exam

Hey quickdash,

I’d say yes; it is possible. Also, it’s important to remember that questions that seem easy to you may be, in actuality, “hard,” right?

Since the test is over now, just try to hang tight until you get your score from GMAC. Once you get your score, let us know.

Yes, the last few 3-4 questions are easier than the questions in the middle of the Quant section. I scored 49 three times in real gmat and that's what I consistently experienced.
