Hello. Can someone explain me how to calculate a remainder in a division? Because for example when 989 IS DIVIDED by 9, remainder is 8 but for me is 1, so I think I did not get how to calculate it.

Thank you. but so why in this case is 8? In general, do we have a formula or something to check what the remainder is ? Or do I have to go close to the number every time like you did? Thank you.
